The wearing of an engagement ring dates ALL the way back to ancient Egypt!
The ancient Egyptians started the tradition of wearing the ring on their fourth finger on their left hand because they believed that finger contained a vein that reached all the way to the heart.
Though it’s tradition for countries such as England, the USA, France, and Canada to traditionally wear the engagement ring on the left hand, that’s not the case for countries like Germany, India and Russia! They wear their engagement ring on their right hand!
