Somewhere between having my toes in white sand and having a fruity drink in my hand I realized that I had truly needed it.
An escape.
I live a beautiful wonderful messy life. It’s not an exaggeration to say that each and every day is an adventure.
But in the midst of adventure comes a necessity for relaxation. A time to literally do nothing, plan nothing, and read something.
I have never done this before on my own and I must say it is simply wonderful.
Mornings have been spent outside, with a coffee cupped between both hands, a killer view and quality time with Christ.
Afternoon’s have been spent beach side and on unique adventures. I can now say I climbed a 900ft waterfall (Dunn’s River Falls), been snorkeling in Jamaica and tubing down the Rio Bueno. Life’s goooooood.
Jordan, Karley. Jessie and I have all craved time away and our craving has been deeply satisfied.
We’re four girls from four totally different walks of life – each unique and original and completely different from the next. In the midst of our individual uniqueness comes an even more unique bond that ties us together.
We’re celebrating our eleventh year of friendship and it amazes me at how much has changed…. And how much has remained the same. We’re women now. But underneath the layers of growth, maturity, and life, you can still find the little eleven year old girls in us. The giggling, the thrill of doing something daring and the child like trust we share as a group of four take me all the way back to when I first met them.
We leave tomorrow and my heart is full. It has been so refreshing to go somewhere I’ve never been before with four girls I love deeply and have nothing but relaxation expected. 🙂
I’ll leave you with this…
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:28- 31
