Happy Birthday to the blog! Exactly one year ago, yesterday, I started writing my ramblings on it’s pages. My heart, my adventures, my excitement & my passions have all been captured & written about here. If you’ve been following the blog for sometime, you may remember that last year, I didn’t make just one New Year’s Resolution. Instead, I made three in hopes that Id keep at least ONE. Well, ladies & gentlemen, **drum roll please**
I kept all three !
There’s something to be said though, about making Resolutions and then having someone or something hold you accountable to them. In my case, you held me accountable, because you take time out of your day to read, comment & share what I have to say– and I’m so thankful for that! It is SO exciting for me to be able to look back on all that has happened in 2012. With a child-like heart I’m even more excited for these new 2013 resolutions!
1. Get more serious about starting/building a photography business!
There is so much more I am craving to learn as a photographer. That’s the beauty of the craft though- you can never learn to much! With that being said, there are also some leaps I need to take. I need to believe in me more. Investing more into my business, branding myself, & marketing my photo experience are my top three ways I can do that.
2. To pursue truth more passionately/ To be a living sacrifice
My dad recently said something that stuck with me: Truth Floats. The truth always comes out, and since Christ is truth it’s my prayer that I reflect it in all I say and do. I tell all of my non believer (yet!) friends that my prayer for them is that they pursue truth and are satisfied by what (who, really) they discover. It’s a sneaky way of saying “I PRAY FOR YOU TO DEVELOP A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE MOST INCREDIBLE SAVIOR EVER” … I want to give of everything I am, to empty myself, my talents, my heart into the things I do, so that only Christ can fill me back up again. I want to be gracious be a fountain of truth if you will. The approval of man does not matter, the approval of self doesn’t stand, but the approval of Jesus Christ? That’ll last eternally.
3. To take more leaps
This is the years resolution that I can’t put a face on. I don’t know what it looks like now, but my prayer is that whenever I’m faced with a situation to take a leap of faith, or stay comfortable, I leap. I don’t want to be stuck in a mundane routine the rest of my life- that accomplishes nothingness. I want more out of life, I want to live abundantly! And that starts with a leap of faith in the small decisions and the big ones.
How about you? What are your New Year Resolutions? Share & comment below!
xoxo

Happy Birthday to your blog Filly! I really like what you said when you talk to unbelievers and I might steal that (ok I will). Keep up the fight to keep all 6 now, you can do it.
