Sometimes, friendships don’t need a formal introduction- they just need a connection. Autumn’s friendship was one of those times. I met Autumn over the phone. She was inquiring about photographing her sweet soon-to-be four month old, Annaiah.
Before a photo shoot, I love to meet my clients over coffee or lunch. It is a great way to get to know them and talk about their photo experience and learn how I can best serve them. It is one of my favorite parts of my job! Being the mother of two sweet baby girls under the age of two, Autumn invited me to her house for tea. There is something SO special about being in someone’s home. Over tea, laughter, and playing with her sweet little girls, Autumn and I got to know each other. It blessed me more than I can describe. Through our meeting, Autumn shared her heart for the Lord, and her desire for her little ones to grow up knowing Jesus intimately. She also shared that she wanted the first year of Annaiah’s year documented, and she wanted me to do it!
Michael is in the Coast Guard, and has been serving our Country for over 7 years. His heart for his family is so full- I love the way he loves his girls!
Autumn and her husband Michael are two simply wonderful people. Both of their little girls have Hebrew names that they picked out and prayed over. Michael picked out Annaiah’s name soon after they had discovered they were pregnant. He had underlined the name in his bible after reading scripture from the Old Testament, but didn’t mention it to Autumn. One morning Autumn was reading her husband’s bible when she discovered the name underlined, and she liked it instantly. But, she wanted to seek other names, hoping to find one that “clicked”.
One day, the couple had slight pregnancy scare, and Autumn prayed over her daughter, calling her by name. It was in that moment that she knew Annaiah was the name the Lord had for her little girl.
I can’t wait to continue capturing this sweet family through Annaiah’s first year- it is such an incredible opportunity and such a gift!
Have a happy Monday!
