A Business Workshop for Creatives at Chaleur Method Brew + Espresso
Coffee shops serve as the offices for many creatives- myself included. When I want to get out of the house, or need a change of scenery (or have a desperate desire to get out of my yoga pants and messy bun) working at a local coffee shop refreshes my creative soul and allows me to start my work day with a fresh perspective.
When Chaleur Method Brew + Espresso opened up in Mobile, I knew that it would become an instant favorite. From it’s incredibly relaxing French inspired atmosphere, to it’s ever growing selection of the finest coffees, I instantly fell in love. It didn’t take long for this little place to warm the heart of the city, becoming one of the best spots in midtown to sip an espresso.
If that wasn’t reason enough to love this little place, Chaleur has recently started hosting Creative Workshops at least once a month. Chaleur’s first love may be coffee, but their second love is absolutely learning. I am SO honored to say that I was invited to head up these workshops by speaking at the very first one!!
When I first started my business I had NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING. All I knew was that I loved photography, & the more I photographed, the better I got. The idea of people paying me to photograph them literally made me SO happy & before I knew it Anna Filly Photography was born. Over these last 4 years my creative passion has transformed into a career that I’m passionate about & it brings me SO much joy to do what I love ! But, my small business journey wasn’t easy. I learned so much along the way, and I find so much joy in sharing my journey with other small business owners.
Last Saturday, Chaleur invited me to teach a business workshop on “How to Turn Your Creative Passion into a Passionate Career”. It was SO fun for me to sit with other business owners and creatives and encourage them on their journey. Building a business is hard. Creatives most usually begin a business because they’re passionate about something. Along the way, they are quick to learn that their passion alone won’t sustain them if they desire to make money while doing what they love. At the business workshop, I shared the top 9 things I WISH someone had told me when I started my photography business four years ago. Attendees of this workshop soaked UP so much knowledge and encouraged each other as they asked questions and dreamed together. This course was so much fun to teach, because the information was so practical! Workshop attendees learned about how to create an effective client experience, how to build a brand, how to grow with their market and SO much more! Attendees walked away with a custom guide to help them grow and they each also got a little headshot session 🙂
Did you miss out on this workshop, but want to attend it or ones like it in the future? NO WORRIES! Let Chaleur know !!
Chaleur, thank you SO much for letting me come and speak about a topic so near and dear to my heart! It was SUCH a fun time!
Happy Monday!
