Chris and I left the jewelers and hopped into his car.
“How do you feel?” I looked over at my friend and couldn’t help but grin.
Chris chuckled and exhaled, “Like I’m gonna ask Deeon Hyde to marry me,”
The nervous sparkle in his eyes made mine glisten. Today, he was proposing to the love of his life: my very best friend, Deeon.
Chris had planned the whole thing out beautifully. He would take her to the place where they had gone on their first date almost exactly eight months previously. “A short ferry ride and dinner out,” He told her. As she got ready for her evening out with him, she had no idea that tonight, he’d ask her if she’d be his for the rest of their lives…..
I hid in-between parked cars as the boat pulled away from land and made its way out to sea. Whispering prayers under my breath, and watching from a short distance, I could hardly contain my excitement.
As a photographer, I have the privilege and honor to capture some of the most incredible moment’s in people’s lives. Sometimes they are strangers, and other times, they are people that have played a part in molding & shaping me into the person I’m becoming….
When you think of how great the gift of friendship is, you can’t help but get teary eyed, right?
Maybe it’s just me.
My eyes began to well up with happy tears as I watched Chris get down on one knee.
Two of my most favorite people would leave this boat engaged.
So thankful to have these two images above captured. It all became SO real to Dee when she looked up to see who was taking photographs. #HeyBestFriend #BeStillMyHeartChris is the real MVP. So thankful for you.Their love for each other is one of the purest, most tender things I’ve ever had the privilege to see….I just can’t get over their JOY! Isn’t it radiant?!I’ve never seen Chris so happy 🙂One of my favorites….
Chris & Dee, I ADORE you both. I can’t wait to see the rest of your story be told as you prepare to serve Jesus in & through your promises & commitment to each other!!!
