A year ago I met Gibson for the very first time. His bright brown eyes shyly eyed my camera, no doubt full of wonder as to what it was. I let him look through the lens, hold it and smiled as his tiny little fingers struggled to barely wrap themselves around it. Him, his sweet momma Rebecca, and I adventured through the southern charm of Mobile’s infamous Avenue of Oaks. We let Gibson explore, run through sprinklers, and throw leaves in the air while he danced under them, watching them fall. It was a photo session that stuck with me for so many reasons.
Gibson is four now, and as adventurous as ever. He now knows what my camera does, and throughly enjoys the fact that someone follows him around with it! When it comes to photographing kids, my favorite sessions are sessions like Gibson’s. Kids can’t always sit still- and honestly, that’s not always a bad thing! Letting their personality shine, and photographing it is one of the many reasons why I love my job. Capturing sweet sessions like Gibson’s is so rewarding. What four year old boy wants to genuinely smile while sitting still for an hour? None! Gibson is infamous for picking up tiny little things and showing them off 🙂Such a model!Love that smile!Gibson’s momma, Becca is such an extraordinary woman. Her love for her sweet boy is precious- I LOVE their relationship!Gibson remembered that we let him throw leaves at our last session together, so he insisted we do it again this year! How fun is that?
So fun!
Happy Monday!
