I can’t even BEGIN to tell you how excited I’ve been for today’s blog post. It is easily one of my all time FAVORITES! We have officially invited our BRIDAL PARTY to be a part of our wedding day!!!
People are like puzzle pieces. They fit and connect to us in so many ways!! I love that. I love that when I look over the relationships I’ve cultivated and the friendships I’ve made, each person uniquely fits into a different part of my life. Some relationships have lasted for years. Some friends, I’ve known for a short period of time. Some friends have the gift to empathize, while others bring joy and life to a room. In some relationships, I know that adventure will be had, and in others, I feel safe in every way, shape and form. Some friendships deepen my relationship with the Lord, while others push me to pursue my dreams. Some friends aren’t afraid to speak the truth, and some friends overflow in grace. But, regardless, in all seasons I’ve been blessed to look to my left, or my right, and fine people that love me– even in my darkest and most lonely seasons.
David and I have been praying for our bridal party for over a year. Okay, okay– I know that sounds crazy, but it’s SO true. Long before we ever got engaged, David and I prayed for the people that we did life with. We deeply desired that our worlds and friendships would intermingle in a special way. I didn’t want to meet all of David’s friends on our wedding day, I wanted to do life with them LONG before we ever got married and vice versa. As our relationship lengthened, we both noticed that there were certain friendships the Lord deepened and we got closer with together. It has been such an incredible process to pray and watch the Lord bloom and blossom the friendships we share together. David and I firmly believe that, as people, we become like the people we share the most life with. I am so encouraged that ALL of the individuals we have chosen are people I would be HONORED to become more like!! Those relationships are the ones we want to stand with us as we make our vows to one another and to the Lord!
In asking our friends to be a part of our Bridal Party, David and I knew we wanted to be intentional, frugal and of course- CREATIVE! We spent many date nights crafting handmade cards for each person in our bridal party. For the ladies, we hand crafted a card with an insert that explained “the Details”: their dress color, shoe color and the wedding colors! For the gentlemen, we assembled little tuxedos on the front of each card with a quote from David’s favorite tv show that said: “Suit Up!”. David is such a good man. He glued, cut, and assembled handcrafted tuxedos with such patience and grace. I’m SO thankful for a man who just likes to do life with me– even if it means crafting!
Included with the card was a small gift from us to them. I asked my bridesmaids to be in our bridal party with the help of the ever talented ladies at EllenJay Events! This little bakery is a forever favorite of mine. We worked together to customize and design this cookie selection and I am SO impressed!! Isn’t in the CUTEST?!
David asked his groomsmen to be in our bridal party with the help of an awesome little business based in Seattle, WA – Bean Box! Discovering Bean Box was like a dream come true for David. He absolutely LOVES coffee, and the art of brewing it. We ordered a sampler box that came with 16 different coffee selections in two ounce bags! Each bag was the perfect little gift for each of David’s groomsmen! Plus, he is incredibly excited to brew the extra coffee for himself 😉
All in all, we are SO excited to have our friends step alongside us as we prepare for our most special day!!
xoxo
