Young love. It’s vibrant, and all consuming. They say that young love is the purest love. It’s the most innocent. You remember, of course. The first time you fell in love, you were completely consumed with the other person. Sounds, sights, and every day activities seemed to flirt with the idea of them at every turn.
It was young love that first brought Meredith and Colby together and it was true love that kept them there. At twelve they noticed each other for the first time. Through middle school and high school, the ebbs and flows of growing up brought them together and pulled them apart. At 15 and 16, both agreed that no matter how life pulled and tugged, they wanted to be together… and they have been together ever since.
I love their story because it shows the beauty of choice. Choosing to love someone is just as, if not more, important than falling in love with them. It was young love that sputtered and sparked in the hearts of 12 and 13 year old Meredith and Colby, but it was the choice to love each other that kept them there. Now, almost eight years later, they are choosing to spend forever, together. In a little over a month these two are sealing the deal that turned young love into true love that grew to forever love!
