There are some people to whom God just gifts you with. You don’t deserve them to be in your life, and if we were being completely honest, you don’t always realize how much of a gift they truly are.
Nate is one of those people. We met somewhere between kindergarten and high school, though, it was closer to kindergarten than high school. Our friendship grew, as we did, but it wasn’t until we graduated that we realized the rarity of what we had (Three hour conversations at Chick-fil-a about Adam & Eve and if they could fly in the Garden of Eden don’t just happen with anyone).
We trust each other with anything, and everything. The little demons we struggle with, or who has caught our eye romantically. The frustrations of the unknown, to what God is revealing in our hearts. We say we’re Iron sharpening Iron, and we mean that.
Salvation is a process, and Nate admits that the way He came to Christ is a reflection of that. He got baptized early in life, and with his baptism, Christ began to captivate his mind. Nate began to pursue Jesus through knowledge, getting to know all that he could about Jesus. Then, later, he discovered his purpose in Christ and that he had been made for something specific. That’s when Christ captured his body and soul. But it wasn’t until recently when Jesus revealed to Nate the scope of who he really is, that Nate gave his heart to Jesus, totally and completely.
In the end, that’s all Jesus really wanted.
Nate is pursuing a degree in Film from Southeastern University in FL. His talent is undeniable and it is so obvious to everyone he meets that he was created to make a difference in the film industry. His sense of humor, selflessness, love for all things Batman, obsession with bacon, and passion for Christ are what make him such a rare gift.
“God is teaching me that the only thing that matters in this life that I live is His son. That I need to realize He is all that is important and deserves more than I could ever give.” – Nate
