It occurred to me today, as I was reading my bible, that sharing my faith on my blog may not be possible in 20+ years. It also occurred to me today that Americans don’t fear God because we don’t need God. So, after reading this I decided to boot what I had scheduled to blog about and simply allow Daniel 7:9-10 & 13-14 to do the talking.
I watched as thrones were put in place
and the Ancient One sat down to judge.
His clothing was as white as snow,
his hair like purest wool.
He sat on a fiery throne
with wheels of blazing fire,
and a river of fire was pouring out,
flowing from his presence.
Millions of angels ministered to him;
many millions stood to attend him.
Then the court began its session,
and the books were opened.
….
As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.
I’m a very visual person.
And these verses say it all.
Not all scripture is warm and fuzzy- in fact, it shouldn’t be! It should be refining and challenging. Reading it should make us want to be changed, better, more purposed! Reading it should remind us that there is so much more to our lives than just our own selfish purposes for each and every day- there’s God’s purpose for us 🙂 isn’t that exciting?!
Uncomfortablity should remind us that we need something other than our own ability…. We need God! We shouldn’t complain when things get uncomfortable, or seek the options of man… we should seek the purpose that God has for us.
Praying that we know God better, and need him more than ever!
