It all started when I first came to Mobile. I hadn’t known Sam for very long, but I instantly liked her. One day, a group of us were talking when Sam suddenly lowered her voice and whispered that she liked Adam Moats. Being new, I didn’t know Adam, but the other girls did. Squeals and giggled erupted from the group and Sam beamed.
Some time later, after months of dating, Adam contacted me. He had bought a ring.
I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was. Sam + Adam had not only become great friends, but their relationship had also grown to become a beautiful christ centered example to everyone they came into contact with!
Adam told me his plan, and scheduled the date. He wanted his proposal photographed for Sam.
The day finally came, and we both met at the USS Alabama Battleship, nervous and unbelievably excited.
Sam was a USS Alabama Crewmate for 2012-2013. She works with the battleship and was scheduled to attend a meeting with her coworkers and her Crewmates. The meeting that Sam believed she was going to attend, was actually going to be Adam’s proposal.
Adam worked all the details out perfectly. Sam boarded the ship with her boss, Karen. Karen then directed her to sit in a chair that had been placed in the center of the deck with a letter. Sam opened the letter, confused, thinking that maybe she was receiving a scholarship. Karen disappeared as Sam began to read. She soon recognized the handwriting- Adams. His love for her had been written and poured out upon the pages of paper, and at the very end, Adam’s words told her to turn around.
Sam jumped to her feet and turned around, Adam walked towards her and embraced her. Then, he got on one knee….
Tears began to flow (myself included!) and within no time at all, Adam was up on his feet, holding his new fiancée.
Karen & I were both hidden from sight, and when Sam said yes, music began to play (thanks to Karen!). Then, Adam and Sam began to dance…..
Oh, how I love them.
Sam +Adam I am SO happy for you both. Thank you for sharing these sweet moments with me. I am SO blessed to be able to do what I do and capture these raw, beautiful moments.
Happy Monday!
