I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again- I absolutely LOVE the music ensembles at The University of Mobile! One of my most favorite groups, is an all ladies ensemble – SoFree. SoFree started off as a music group for Freshman and Sophomore ladies, but now it is for all years. I love that- the talent that is in this group is remarkable. Their success can be equated to one thing and one thing alone: their love for Christ. I say that with all sincerity. Not to be taken lightly, their desire to lead others into worship is deep and wide. Their practices, and rehearsals often become intimate times in which these ladies open their hearts, and simply praise.
This group of girls is led by Brooke, a talented and beautiful woman who also attends the University of Mobile. Brooke’s heart for music is as big as the sky, and her heart for these ladies, is even bigger. Edifying, challenging, and teaching these ladies, both vocally and spiritually is such a gift to watch. See, Brooke does not do anything half heartedly, she either does it, or she doesn’t. SoFree is no exception, her heart has found itself woven into the life of this 15 member ensemble.
Brooke does life with the ladies that she leads. SoFree is not just a musical group of talented performers, it is a family. They laugh together, cry together, travel together, they even plan large sleepovers together! These girls know the importance of their ministry, so they strive to ensure that they don’t just minister to audiences, but also to each other. I think it’s safe to say that they do it effectively, just look at their joy for each other!
It was such a joy photographing these ladies. It is SO exciting to see Christ use them, each and every day!
