Songs & Sunshine

          There is nothing I love more than a beautiful day filled with music and sunshine.  Add a few books to the mix and you might as well say I’m in love. Truth be told I don’t have enough of these days, and they are craved.  Today, the weather was a little over 70, the sun made it feel warmer as it kissed my skin, and a light breeze blew from all directions, making my hair dance. 

I was in heaven.  My guitar and I had a date.  I kicked off my boots and flung myself on an old quilted blanket that covered the fluffy grass.  After a few songs, I switched to reading…. then journaling… then back to guitar playing. 

It was the first time in a long time that no one knew where I was.
Nothing needed my attention.
and I could do…. nothing.

Of course, after I experienced this bliss I realized that I needed more times like this.  More hours spent in the sunshine, more time making music, more time praising my Savior, more time relaxing, more time thinking and more time to myself. 

 Because it’s not what you do, but it’s the condition of your heart, that matters most. 

My heart is full, I feel recharged.
