You may remember that about a month or so ago I admitted that I had come to the place in my business where I just couldn’t do it alone anymore. I needed help. I needed an assistant. Being a Wedding Photographer is so much more than just taking pretty pictures. I was so thrilled when the emails started rolling in with people interested in learning, growing, and helping throw wedding veils (it’s a thing).
Stacie was one of those people. Excitement oozed out of my computer screen as I read her email applying for the assistant position. I knew instantly that she would be a perfect fit for the job and soon we were adventuring to Montevallo, Alabama together for a Wedding.
The day could not have been more perfect.
Stacie was flawless.
She threw veils, she fetched glasses of water, straightened dresses and loved on the bridal party. My heart overflowed and I must say that it turned out to be one of the most incredible Weddings I have yet to photograph. I was so encouraged by her questions, and her desire to learn. Not that I am an overflowing fountain of photography knowledge or anything- but what I do know, I want to share. Most people automatically assume that my job is all about pushing a button on a camera, and pretty things. Sweet Stacie is proof that it is so much more than that, and I’m so thankful for her.
People really are the best gifts 🙂
