The Filly Family Annual Christmas Card 2017

When David and I got married, my parents were ESTATIC for their new addition to the family.  For months before we said I do, all my mom could talk about was her new son!  This Thanksgiving, David and I were blessed to spend the holiday with my family, in Virginia.

Virginia is my heart, and I’m so grateful we were able to make the trip.  The sights, the history, the way the trees throw their confetti colored leaves each time Autumn rolls around…. sigh.  I just love Virginia, and I just love these people.  Each year we do a little “Family Session” so we can photograph our family for The Filly Family annual Christmas card.  But this year, my sweet momma insisted that we use one of our family photos from our wedding on our Christmas Card because we’ve all “never looked better” (We can all thank our wedding photographer, Megan Kelsey, for that! ).

Regardless, I still insisted we needed to photograph the family, and you’ll see why!  My family is SO full of life, and we love each other so deeply.  Capturing that means the WORLD to me! When my grandkids ask about my parents, I want to be able to SHOW them exactly what my parents were like (And golly are my parents cute together!!!).   Capturing my Dad’s vibrant personality, or my sister’s hilarious one is such a gift for me.

This year, my cousin Sarah was able to join us for the Holidays.  Sarah is such a sweetheart.  Adding her to The Filly Family Annual Christmas Card photo session brought the experience to a whole new level!  Sarah is sweet and kind, but also quick witted, which meant that her and David got along swimmingly 😉

   These two are just precious!My sister always grabs the perfect shots when I’m not behind the camera!! Bros!! My sister is the perfect mix of Elsa and Katniss Everdeen !!  SO classy and gorgeous, spunky and adventurous! I just had to show you a little “behind the scenes”– these are too good not to share!!!

Mom- ” Yall climb that tree so I can have a photo of my kids in a tree!!”

Dad always takes momma’s face in his hands and talks to her sweetly.  Whether to calm her down, encourage her, or be sweet, daddy knows how to love his bride !

This is HILARIOUS!  Myra’s reaction gets me every time!!  My girl <3OHHHHH MyraJoy!     SO funny! Sarah’s face!!!! (Terrified!!) Myra’s face!!!! (A chipmunk ready to pounce!)The Filly girls !! I just adore this man!
