The Little Things: Dirt, Disney & Doing Life

March is here.

Does anyone else feel like this month holds the start of something NEW?!  I’m thrilled that flowers are beginning to bloom here in the South, and the weather is starting to warm!  Spring holds so many incredible things.  Like tulips, outdoor weddings, & warm days that end with cool evening breezes.  Gah!
When I was a little girl, Spring time was always my favorite.  When the weather would start to warm, my dad would always be found outside among the flowerbeds.  Every Spring, the flowerbeds would be tilled up, and new life would be planted in and around our home.  Some of my favorite memories can be found outside in the dirt of those flowerbeds.  Together, my dad and I would spend hours in conversation as we planted.  I had no idea that years later, the things we planted back then were both physical and spiritual.  Not only did we plant amazing blossoms and budding trees, but daddy also planted seeds of wisdom, knowledge and love in my little heart.
One of the many things dad planted in my heart was a love for people.  He has always taught me that a well lived life was one not filled with things, but filled with experiences shared with people. After all, people are God’s greatest treasure.  They’re the only being created that can feel the richness and fullness of God’s love.  In order to know Him better, we’ve gotta know who He loves.

So, amongst the chaos and crazy of life, three of my sweetest friends and I planned a little getaway to Disney World.  Three of us have graduated college.  Big girl jobs, world traveling, and long distances are the things that  fill our future.  There is a lot of unknown.

But, the four of us know that life is meant to be lived to the fullest.  We know that penny pinching, splitting meals, and taking as many photos as possible are all worth it in the scheme of things.  So is borrowing minnie mouse ears, pretending to be princesses and putting glitter on everything we own is a giddy luxury we are blessed to partake in.  We also know, that we don’t know how many more opportunities we’ll have to do something whimsical and adventurous like this.

So, we decided to not take it for granted.
