I absolutely LOVE teenagers. Maybe it’s because they’re so full of energy or maybe it’s because I’m as awkward as they are– either way: I just love them! Last year I had the privilege of traveling to Eufaula, Alabama to work a weekend retreat (DNow) with my sweet friend Jessica. That weekend was one for the books. We got to invest in 8th grade girls, laugh until our sides hurt, and watch as Jesus moved in the hearts of each student. It was incredible. Little did I know that I would be able to do it again, with the same girls the following year! This past weekend, Jess and I traveled back to Eufaula and were able to have the same group of girls! These gorgeous, and talented young women are high schoolers now (cray) and it was SUCH a joy to see the growth and depth that occurred since the last time we saw them!
The weekend was packed to the BRIM. Since it was Valentine’s Day weekend, we got to do service projects that encouraged the girls to love on people and spread the hope of Christ. The girls bought Valentines Day balloons and decided they wanted to give them to strangers and tell the about Jesus. Serving Jesus is SO fun, and as you can see we had a blast!
We even had a short 15 minute window where each girl got to rock the camera— how precious are they?!
This is Caroline– not a 9th grader, but a sister of a 9th grader and probably the cutest thing on the PLANET!
Golly I love them 🙂 Needless to say– we had an INCREDIBLE weekend! Crossing my fingers that I’ll get to lead them as 10th graders next year !
