Our Wedding Invitations are officially mailed, and it makes our wedding day seem THAT much closer. Gosh golly, this season has seemed to move at a snails place at some points, and like a speedy whirlwind at other times. All in all, I am SO grateful for it! It’s amazing to watch as things fall into place, and projects are being check off of the list.
One of the BIGGEST projects, and longest running, has been the design of our wedding invitations! This process began almost as soon as David and I got engaged back in December. I immediately contacted one of my favorite paperie designers, Kristin Wilson, and we got the ball rolling! You may recognize Kristin as a business owner who has been featured on the blog before- and it’s true! I’ve photographed Kristin’s family portraits for years, and have had the pleasure of photographing Kristin’s business head shots as well. Not only is she an incredible friend in the wedding industry, but she’s an incredible client too. It was SO fun to change rolls and become one of her clients!! Having Kristin step into the wedding planning process took such a weight off of my newly engaged shoulders!
Wedding invitations are such an important part of the wedding day. They serve as the first pieces of the event that guests can touch and hold. Framed in silver and located in the guest bedroom of my parent’s house, is their formal wedding invitation from over twenty years ago. My sweet momma designed it herself and was intentional to pick the prettiest paper she could find. The wording and detail on the invite is just like momma- charming and timeless. It’s so precious to me that, years later, I’m able to appreciate the fact that this piece of paper served as the invitation into my parent’s “forever”.
More than anything, I wanted my wedding invitations to be framed, just like my momma’s. Not only did I want it to invite guests to our wedding, but I wanted my wedding invitations to be a piece of art that I could frame for my children to touch and hold later down the road.
Kristin took my vision and gave it life! She worked intentionally to create the most BEAUTIFUL invitation suite for David and I. Now, I can’t *officially* reveal what the suite looks like just yet. But I CAN tell you that it’s beautiful, timeless and personal! My sister even drew an image of our Wedding venue on the RSVP card!!!! Until the grand reveal of our wedding invitations, enjoy these gorgeous images of Kristin’s other work!!
